All of us online geeks have watched as eBay’s ownership of Skype not go as well as anyone had hoped. eBay recently agreed that they paid too much for the company, and developments of the platform haven’t been as aggressive as I would like.
Now, over on a blog on Guardian, there is a post saying Google might be looking to purchase Skype from eBay. This makes sense on many levels to me, as they gear up for their Android platform, and it would give eBay a good influx of cash to develop their business further.
Could Google have interest in Skype? I sure hope so because maybe then we will finally see Skype-In numbers come to Canada where most voice over IP services are managed by broadband providers, and are super expensive.
